Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of blog.musicheadsafrica.com. By reading the site you accept them. If you do not, stop using the site. Nothing here limits any consumer right that cannot be limited by agreement.

Acceptable use

You may read the guides, print them, bookmark them, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not:

  • republish an article or a substantial part of one, anywhere, without written permission;
  • scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site, including for training machine learning models;
  • strip out source citations, dates or disclaimers when quoting, which misrepresents what the article says;
  • present content from this site as someone else's work, or as the output of a firm offering advice;
  • interfere with the site — probing for vulnerabilities, seeking unauthorised access, overloading the server;
  • use the site unlawfully, or help anyone else do so.

Quotation for review, comment, news reporting or teaching is fine. The line is reproduction that substitutes for reading the original.

Intellectual property

The articles, tables, page design and site code are the property of Stateside Money and are protected by copyright. The name Stateside Money and its logo are its marks.

Three things are not claimed. The underlying facts — a tax rate, a fee percentage, a regulation citation — are nobody's property; use them freely. Material published by the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Veterans Affairs, HUD, the FHFA and the CFPB remains theirs, and is credited where quoted. Third-party names and trade marks belong to their owners. No endorsement by any agency, lender or insurer is implied, and none exists.

For permission to republish, write to [email protected] naming the article, the use and where it would appear.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind.

Stateside Money works hard on accuracy — the Editorial Policy sets out how — but does not warrant that any article is accurate, complete or current on the day you read it. That is not boilerplate. Tax figures change every year, funding fee tables and mortgage insurance premiums change on announcement, and lender criteria change with no announcement at all. An article correct when checked may be out of date by the time you act.

No warranty is given that the site will be available without interruption, free of errors, or free of harmful components. Every page carries the date it was last checked and every figure names its source. Check it there before relying on it. That is the whole arrangement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stateside Money, its editor and its contributors are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or reliance on anything published here.

That includes, without limitation: tax paid, overpaid or underpaid; interest, penalties or surcharges; a loan declined or withdrawn; costs in a property transaction that did not complete; an insurance claim refused; a deadline missed; and any indirect, consequential or economic loss.

The reason is the one on the Disclaimer: this site publishes general information about published rules and has no knowledge of your circumstances. Decisions with money and deadlines attached need a professional who does.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Articles link to primary sources — government sites, agency publications, regulations — so you can verify a figure. Stateside Money does not control those sites, is not responsible for their content, and their own terms and privacy policies apply there.

This site carries advertising served by third parties. Advertisements are not endorsements, are not reviewed before they appear, and are not selected by the editor. Any dealing with an advertiser is between you and them. See the Privacy Policy for what vendors collect.

Changes to the site and to these terms

Articles are edited, corrected, consolidated and occasionally removed. Nothing is guaranteed to stay at the same address or in the same form; where a page goes, a redirect is put in place if there is a sensible destination.

These terms may be revised. The current version is on this page with its date. Continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings there where local law gives it.
